Thanks to one of the regular emails I receive from Photojojo I was inspired by the work of an Atlanta photographer, Jason Travis who went up to people on the street and asked them if could take their picture and one of the stuff they pack on a daily basis. I loved going through his series on Flickr. So I thought I’d do something similar.

First, a self portrait taken on the back porch:

Next, my bag with stuff and honestly I didn’t realize I packed so much stuff! Maybe time to go back to college backpack?

Contents:
-coach wallet, hideously expensive and such a symbol of overindulgence, but I love it anyway
-daily planner/journal, where I keep track of my school assignments
-paperclips, no idea why I carry these, maybe it’s a McGyver thing?
-pens, highlighters, and pencils
-watercolor kit, just in case inspiration strikes
-iphone headphones
-lotion, sticky notes, gum, kiddie snacks, instant Starbucks
-current textbook I read whenever I can
-pillowcases I need to remember to take to preschool for kiddie project
-keys, tampon holder, nail file, lip gloss, chap stick
-art stuff: pencil sharpener, watercolor brushes, pencils for sketching, kneaded rubber eraser, moleskin journal
-padlock for when I actually make it to the gym
-iphone with icky blue cover since my pink one broke 😦
-my handmade business card case (brown) plus other little pouch for stuff
-misc mail, receipts, notes

So, what’s in your bag?

Last week I needed to make a birthday card for my aunt’s 60th birthday so I borrowed a brand new stamp set from my stamper friend Lori. It’s called Elements of Style and it’s going to be in Stampin Up! summer mini coming out in May. It is so beautiful! Classic florals, a bird, funky swirl all add up to a beautiful and romantic shabby chic look!

First the birthday card I made 2 because it was so pretty!

supplies:
-pretty in pink, basic black, whisper white cs
-pretty in pink, basic black, certainly celery, bashful blue, barely banana, almost amethyst ink
-blender pens, pretty in pink satin ribbon (love!), half back pearls, and ticket corner punch

The next card was inspired by a left over bit from the first project and was a “just-because-I-wanted-to” card and is soo deliciously shabby and aged, and textured!

supplies:
-kraft, very vanilla, almost amethyst, whisper white cs
-pretty in pink, basic black, certainly celery, bashful blue, barely banana, almost amethyst, soft suede ink
-Vintage vogue wheel–one of my new favorite things!
-scallop trim border and scalloped oval punches
-vintage tulle and crochet trim

And then, because I was on a roll and had a strip left over from making my background with my wheel, I grabbed markers and started to play!

supplies:
-kraft cs
-regal rose, crushed curry, bordering blue markers
-tag corner punch
-shimmer paint and sponge daubers
-vintage tulle and pretty in pink satin ribbon

And now I’m off to do some homework!
