This week’s Color Inspiration from Kristina Werner was a fun mix of colors. Love the Baja Breeze w/Pumpkin Pie. And Chocolate Chip, like in food, goes with everything!

Here’s my take on the challenge, trying to use up my rub-ons from last year SU, salabration! Wasn’t sure I could make these colors work but I think it turned out pretty good!

Color Inspiration #29

From Kristina Werner’s color challenge was the challenge to use eggplant, tempting turquoise, pacific point, pumpkin pie, and whisper white.

I struggled with this color combo, I could see using one of these bolder colors alone on a card but altogether? This is way out of my comfort zone. And that’s part of the reason I like these color challenges. I don’t always post what I make and don’t always follow along but I like using colors that I wouldn’t normally use like the turquoise and purple which is card stock I have on hand but haven’t cut into ever! I didn’t have pumpkin pie so I used more mustard which I think is pretty close.
This is also the first project where I’ve used the Pacific Point stripped ribbon that I had to order for some odd reason. (All supplies are from Stampin Up!)

Every week I lurk on the Kwerner’s Color Challenges. I’ve made only 2 cards so far. I do use the color combos for ideas for other projects. But after borrowing the Happy Heart stamp set from the new SU holiday mini I thought I’d play along with this current challenge.

I bought the Parisian Summer pack this summer to use on a 100 card swap. This was my 1st time doing something like this so I knew I needed to have a plan to make the most of what I have and actually get 100 card fronts done! I knew I wanted to use the baby buggy Puns from the Past. I used the paper pack to inspire my cards, bravo burgandy and pink pirouette. I still have a sheet an a half of this left and when I saw this week’s challenge I knew this same color combo would be nice for the heart card I had in mind.

I got a little carried away with the embossing powder, doing the background of the top note die cut and the heart. This is going to my hubby tonight, I thought to save it for the big V day but I figured you always need a little love!
